Can I claim on the NDIS for my chest binder?

What We Know From Our Community

Some of our customers have successfully claimed chest binders through the NDIS as an assistive technology or daily living support. Whether a claim is approved depends on your individual plan, the nature of your disability, and how the binder relates to your functional needs.

The most common successful framing is around the binder as a support for managing gender dysphoria where that dysphoria is linked to a psychosocial disability. If your NDIS plan includes supports for mental health or psychosocial disability, this may be the relevant category to explore.

We recommend speaking with your support coordinator or plan manager before attempting a claim. They can advise on whether your current plan includes relevant supports and how to frame a request appropriately.

We are not NDIS advisors and cannot guarantee any particular outcome — claims are assessed individually by the NDIS. But if you have questions about our products and which might be most suitable for your needs, we are happy to help. Contact us directly and we will do our best to assist.
