HOW TO MEASURE FOR A CHEST BINDER

Follow our step-by-step instructions to get your perfect bind

Measurements You'll Need

Upper Chest

With your arms down, breathe normally and tuck the measuring tape as high as you can under the arms - this is your upper chest measurement.

Mid or Full Chest

Measure the widest or fullest part of your chest tissue, not pulling the tissue tight.

Under Chest

Measure right under the chest tissue (think of where a bra strap would sit).

Waist

Bend like a teapot and feel your lowest rib. Stand upright and measure around here.

Additional Tips:

  • For the most accurate measurements, consider measuring without clothing or over minimal layers.
  • It's recommended to take each measurement twice to ensure accuracy.
  • When referring to our size charts, pay attention to whether the measurements correspond to your body or the garment's dimensions.
  • After obtaining your measurements, consult our size chart to find the best fit.
  • Ensuring a proper fit is vital for both comfort and safety. If you have further questions or need assistance, please email us at orders@transformtranswear.com.au.

Checking the fit of your chest binder

  1. When trying on your chest binder for the first time, move your arms in all directions and make sure you don't experience any restricted movement, chaffing or rubbing - if your binder is rubbing and chaffing, then it's likely too small.

  2. Our chest binders do not contain any 'rigid panels' like most other binders, so you should be able to breathe freely without restriction. If your breathing is ever restricted by a chest binder, then take it off - you can bind your chest and be safe and comfortable., so there's no need to engage in unsafe practices.
