Hear From Our Community

If I could go back in time and speak to my younger self, there are so many things I would want to say. The struggles of navigating identity, the uncertainty of finding a community, and the overwhelming weight of feeling misunderstood all seem so vivid in hindsight. But one thing I’d want to remind myself—and others going through a similar journey—is that it’s okay to not have all the answers right away. The path to self-discovery is not linear, and it’s filled with moments of questioning, growth, and, ultimately, liberation.

In this video, we hear from individuals who reflect on their journeys and offer heartfelt messages to their younger selves. These messages are filled with wisdom, compassion, and encouragement—reminders that, even in the hardest moments, they were exactly where they needed to be.

Whether you’re just beginning your gender journey or have been navigating it for awhile, the message is clear: You are valid, you are worthy, and the struggles you face today will shape the person you become tomorrow.

Wearing a chest binder for the first time is a deeply personal and transformative experience. For many, it marks a significant moment of self-affirmation—helping to align the body with their gender identity in a way that feels more authentic and comfortable. The feeling of putting on a chest binder for the first time can be a mix of excitement, nervousness, and relief, as it offers a sense of visibility and validation that words alone cannot provide.

In this video, our ambassadors reflect on the emotional journey of wearing their first chest binder. From the anticipation and self-doubt leading up to the moment, to the empowerment felt once they had it on, we explore how chest binders can play a crucial role in boosting confidence and easing dysphoria.

We also highlight the importance of choosing the right chest binder for comfort, safety, and fit. For many, finding a chest binder that feels just right is an essential part of their gender journey, as it provides both physical and emotional support. Whether it's the first step toward transitioning or an ongoing part of self-expression, the first chest binder is often much more than just an item of clothing—it’s a symbol of living more authentically.

Trans joy is often described as a revolutionary act of celebration in a world that frequently challenges or invalidates trans identities. For many, embracing joy is an essential part of resisting societal negativity and embracing the fullness of who they are. It’s about finding moments of happiness, freedom, and pride, no matter the obstacles faced along the way.

In this video, our ambassadors describe what trans joy means to them. From the simple pleasure of feeling seen and respected to the empowering experience of living authentically, trans joy can manifest in countless ways. Whether it’s in moments of personal triumph, connection with chosen family, or just the joy of being yourself, this post highlights the bright and beautiful aspects of the trans experience.

Through the stories and reflections shared in this video, we celebrate the power of trans joy to inspire, uplift, and TRANSFORM. These stories remind us that despite the hardships, the pursuit of joy is vital in reclaiming our identities and finding peace within ourselves.

Fashion has always been a powerful tool for self-expression, but for folks navigating gender identity, it can be even more significant. Clothing choices allow people to transcend societal norms and present themselves in ways that feel authentic. Whether it’s through the use of bold colours, unconventional silhouettes, or simply choosing what feels comfortable, fashion helps many of us communicate who we are before we even speak.

For many, the journey of gender expression through fashion can be both liberating and challenging. It might involve experimentation—trying on different styles to see what resonates—and it often includes confronting societal expectations. Yet, for those who embrace it, fashion can be a source of empowerment, providing a tangible way to express an inner truth that might otherwise be difficult to articulate.

In this short video, our ambassadors discuss how fashion not only allows for the exploration of gender but also offers a platform for visibility and acceptance. It can be a way to reclaim their identity, challenge traditional norms, and inspire others to do the same. Fashion, in this sense, becomes more than just an aesthetic choice; it is a form of resistance and celebration, paving the way for more inclusive conversations around gender expression.

Supporting a trans child can be a life-changing and rewarding experience, but it can also be challenging as parents and caregivers navigate new terrain. The love and guidance you provide can make all the difference in helping your child feel seen, heard, and accepted as they explore their gender identity. But how do you best support them during this journey?

In this blog post, Eli shares their tips for parents, caregivers, and loved ones who want to offer their unconditional support. From listening with empathy and respecting your child’s pronouns to advocating for their rights and providing access to affirming resources, the journey of supporting a trans child requires both patience and understanding.

We also explore the importance of fostering a safe and loving environment where your child feels comfortable expressing themselves without fear of rejection. Whether your child is just beginning to explore their gender identity or has already taken steps toward transitioning, this post offers valuable guidance on how to be an ally, advocate, and unwavering source of support.

Every step you take to affirm your child’s identity helps build their confidence and reinforces their sense of self-worth. In the end, the greatest gift you can give is unconditional love and acceptance.

It was apparent from a very young age that Eli had a maturity and self-confidence beyond their years. By self-confidence I don’t mean they were loud or showy; I mean they were robust and didn’t let many things get them down or get in their way.

These attributes meant that I always found Eli to be a good sounding board - even as a kid. Their view of the world and people in it was always calm, measured, balanced and sensible.
